Well, the story behind this is:
There once was a man (Luigi) who lived in a small town and he played music. But as he got better, his music showed more emotion. So much, in fact, he unknowingly sucked the souls out of people who heard it. He was driven out of the town to the top of a hill, where he plays his music for the mountains in the distance. The music that he emits from his instruments is actually the voices of those people whose souls he took, crying and grieving over the loss of their bodies and family.
